Welcome to my Uke School blog. It’s never too late to start making music and the ukelele is the ideal instrument to get started on. It’s lighter, usually cheaper and more portable than the guitar but with less strings. It’s very accessible and many of the chords can be learned easily meaning more rapid progress. And there’s no limit as to how far you can take things.
If you would like to learn to play the uke I have a few classes in and around the Southside of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire:
Mondays: Rutherglen: 1-2pm, No18 Venue, 18 Farmeloan Rd.
Tuesdays: Carmunnock: 2-3pm, Castlemilk Hall, 106 Waterside Rd.
Tuesdays: Uddingston: 5.30-6.30pm Uddingston Community Centre, Bellshill Rd. (Beginners guitar class 6.30- 7.30pm)
Sundays: Shawlands: 1.30-2.30pm & 2.30-3.30pm, The Glad Cafe, 1006a Pollokshaws Rd.
Group classes cost £6.50 per hour and instruments can be provided at no extra cost.
I can offer advice to those wishing to purchase their own instrument.
